What support means to us

We work with dedicated responsibilities: whoever wrote your plan also corrects it – and recognizes you on your next visit.

For us, support doesn't mean someone standing at the counter with folded arms. Your contact person knows your plan, your history, and the times you usually train. They speak up if your form deviates from the plan, and they check in if you haven't been in for two weeks.

What results is not a standard program: someone returning after a herniated disc trains differently than someone who has 40 minutes after a late shift. Both get a plan that fits their schedule.

  • Dedicated contact person instead of rotating shift staff
  • Written training plan with weights, sets, and rest periods
  • Introduction to every machine that's new in the plan
  • Correction of form directly during training
  • Progress review with adjustment of the workload
  • Arrangements for training breaks, vacation, and illness
Support is part of the membership and is not billed separately. Details on rates can be found under Membership.

Four building blocks that carry every journey

Every membership starts with the same four steps – whether you're training for the first time or returning after years off.

Medical history

In a conversation, we discuss pre-existing conditions, complaints, occupation and daily routine. This is followed by a brief movement assessment: squat, core stability, shoulder mobility.

Duration
approx. 45 minutes
Timing
before the first training session

Training plan

You receive a written plan with exercises, sets, repetitions and starting weights – tailored to how often you can realistically come to the gym.

Scope
2–3 sessions per week
Format
written, to take with you

Technique check

We go through the execution together on every new machine: seating position, movement path, breathing. After that, we keep checking in throughout your ongoing training.

When
with every new exercise
Where
right at the machine

Progress review

We look at what worked and what didn't, adjust weights and exercise selection, and set the plan for the coming weeks.

Frequency
every 8–12 weeks
Duration
approx. 30 minutes

An overview of the first six months

For most members, about half a year passes from the first conversation to training independently – in five clearly defined stages.

  1. 1

    Week 1: Assessment and introduction

A conversation about goals, occupation, and complaints, followed by a tour of the studio floor. You get to know your dedicated contact person and do your first exercises the same day.

  2. 2

Weeks 2 to 4: Technique before weight

Weights stay deliberately low. We correct your form until the movement feels right, and let tendons and joints adjust to the new load.

  3. 3

Weeks 5 to 8: Building up load

Now the weights gradually increase. Your contact person notes your progress in the plan and swaps out exercises that don't suit you for suitable alternatives.

  4. 4

Weeks 9 to 12: First progress review

We go through your progress so far: what worked, where there wasn't enough time, which exercise was annoying. This results in your second plan, usually with a larger scope.

  5. 5

From month 4: Independent, with support on hand

You train independently, and we remain available. Every eight to twelve weeks we meet again, and you can reach out anytime in between.

Measuring progress

What happens during a check

A check takes about 30 minutes and generally happens every eight to twelve weeks — a bit earlier for those returning after a break. We start by talking about the past weeks: what worked in daily life, which exercise was uncomfortable, how many sessions you really managed. Then we look at your figures and adjust the plan instead of simply extending it across the board.

  • Brief conversation about training frequency, sleep, work-related strain and any complaints
  • Body measurements: weight, waist, chest and thigh circumference, and body fat percentage via caliper on request
  • Load check: we review the training weights and repetitions from recent weeks and increase them wherever technique is solid
  • Technique review on two to three machines — often leg press, lat pulldown and rowing, since compensatory movements tend to appear there first
  • Plan adjustment: new exercises, changed sets or an extra training day, saved directly in your training app
  • Appointment for the next check-in, so that coaching doesn't get lost in everyday life

What you should bring

Comfortable training clothes, clean indoor shoes and a towel. If you have any medical findings regarding your back, knee or circulation, please bring them along — we'll tailor the exercise selection accordingly. How many coaching sessions are included in your plan depends on the membership you choose.

From practice

Common situations — and our solution

Most training drop-offs come down to a handful of recurring causes. Our trainers in Dortmund discuss these points daily — and usually solve them through the plan, not through more discipline.
