A studio on Industriestraße

Puls Fitness is located at Industriestraße 40 in Dortmund — a studio for people who want to train reliably, not just once in January.

At Industriestraße 40, we deliberately favour manageable structures. Equipment training and the class room are under one roof, and the distances between them are short. This means you'll find your way around on your own after just your second visit, without long explanations or detours through winding areas.

Our opening hours are also deliberately chosen: Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, and at weekends from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This means early and late shifts, as well as busy professionals, can find a suitable slot in their own daily routine.

  • Equipment training with instruction at every station
  • Class room with a fixed schedule, groups stay manageable
  • Personal coaching for plans and technique
  • Changing rooms and showers right by the training floor
  • Access via Industriestraße, parking in front of the building

Training atmosphere

Nobody's watching here

On our floor, everyone focuses on their own training — the person returning after a break at the leg press next to someone who's been training for years. Even at 10 pm, you'll still find a free machine and someone to talk to.

How training begins with us

Before your first set, we have a conversation — about your history, any issues, and the time you realistically have each week.

  1. 1

    Arrange an appointment

You call or write to us, and we set a date for your trial session — ideally at the time you'd later train anyway.

  2. 2

    Conversation and tour

We talk about your goal, past injuries and your weekly rhythm. Then we walk through the floor and the class room together.

  3. 3

    First session with instruction

You train under guidance: seat position, weight and range of motion are set and noted on every machine.

  4. 4

    Plan and fine-tuning

Your plan is built from the first session. Whatever doesn't fit, we adjust by arrangement — the training keeps evolving, not the paper.

Target groups

Who we train

Our approach shows in how differently our training plans look. Someone returning after years off needs a different starting point than someone with just 45 minutes between two appointments. We plan both paths in a consultation before the first set on the machine.

After a long break, we start with light weight and lots of repetitions so tendons and ligaments can adjust to the load. In the first few weeks, the plan includes two sessions per week on guided machines: the movement path is fixed there, so there's little room for incorrect form. Only once the technique is solid do free exercises with dumbbells get added.
We tell you in advance what will happen: every session has a goal, and every plan has a date for the next review.

Frequently asked questions about our approach

What does "personal support" actually mean with you?
At the start, you'll receive an introduction to all the equipment included in your plan: seating position, weight, and number of repetitions are noted down so you can find your settings again next time. After that, we review your plan again at regular intervals and adjust weights and exercises. In between, trainers are available on the floor for questions – no appointment needed.
What determines which offer is right for me?
Three things are decisive: how many days per week you can realistically plan for, whether you prefer training alone on equipment or in a group, and whether any health limitations need to be taken into account. We clarify these points together in person. We provide personal advice on fees and contract terms, as they depend on the service you choose.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring sportswear, clean indoor shoes, a towel, and a water bottle. Avoid eating right before your session. If a doctor has specified any exercise limits, please bring that information with you – we'll tailor the choice of exercises accordingly. Plan for about 90 minutes for the consultation, introduction, and first training session.
When is it quietest with you?
It gets busy on weekdays between 5:00 and 8:00 pm. The floor is noticeably quieter in the mornings between 6:00 and 8:00 am, around midday, and after 9:00 pm. On weekends, activity is spread evenly throughout the day. Those returning to training often prefer the off-peak hours for their first sessions, as more equipment is available then.

Trial session by appointment

To make sure someone really has time for you when getting to know us, we schedule trial sessions by appointment. We're open Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Let us know via the contact form which time of day suits you.
