Who we train
Puls Fitness in Dortmund works especially often with two groups: people returning after months or years away from training, and working professionals who need to fit training into a busy week.
Returning or working life
The two cards show the concerns we encounter most often and where they lead – into a steady start with technique work or into fixed short sessions built around your shift schedule.
Starting again after a break
- "I haven't trained in years and don't know where to start."
- Planned path: conversation, equipment induction, then a short basic plan with few exercises.
- The first few weeks run with light weights and supervised guidance at the machines.
- Quieter times tend to be mid-morning and late evening until 11:00 pm.
- No prior knowledge or experience needed – we start with movement, not weight.
- Less suitable if you want to dive straight into the training area without an induction.
Training around a busy work life
- "I have two to three fixed windows a week, and they're short."
- Planned path: a 45-minute plan, two to three sessions a week, few equipment changes.
- Early training from 6:00 am and late training until 11:00 pm on all weekdays.
- On weekends from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm as a backup window when the week was full.
- Classes from the class schedule can be scheduled as a fixed weekly appointment.
- Less suitable if you're looking for long, open-ended sessions without a time frame.
How we find your starting point
Before the first set, we always have a conversation about your history, weekly schedule and goal. Only then do we decide together whether the path leads through machine training, classes or personal coaching.
- 1
Arrange an appointment
You get in touch by phone at +49 30 23125103 or by email, and we set a date for your trial session.
- 2
Conversation at the studio
We talk about breaks, complaints, working hours and how many sessions per week are realistic.
- 3
Equipment induction
You go through the machines with the team: seating position, range of motion, breathing. Only then is weight added.
- 4
Supported first weeks
Your plan starts with a few exercises. We watch and correct during the first sessions before mistakes become habits.
- 5
Adjusting the plan
Once the movements feel right and the rhythm is established, we expand exercises, weight or class share – through conversation, not a fixed template.

Technique first, weight later
Coming back after a break doesn't mean losing anything if the first week stays light. We correct form at the machines while the movement is still new – that's the whole trick to a successful return.

Training around your workday
Whether you work in an office, in the field, or on shifts, you need time slots you can rely on.
From 6:00 a.m., the equipment floor is ready: a full-body circuit of six to eight stations can be completed, including warm-up, in around 40 minutes. At midday, the floor stays busy, but without waiting times at the major machines. After 8:00 p.m., the free-weight area and cardio zone noticeably clear out, so you can train undisturbed until 11:00 p.m. Classes last 45 to 60 minutes and are listed in the class schedule with start time and duration.

Returning members
Getting started again after a long break
The first few weeks decide whether training becomes a habit. That's why returning members start small with us: two sessions a week, moderate weights, clean technique before load.
In the induction conversation, we note pre-existing conditions, back issues and your previous sporting experience, along with your realistic weekly availability.
Induction at the machine
Each station is adjusted together once: seat height, lever length, range of motion. We record the settings so you don't have to guess next time.
Starting with a light load
For the first two to three weeks, you deliberately train below your limit. This gives tendons and joints time to adjust to the load.
Adjusting the plan
After about six to eight weeks, we review the plan again and increase weights, repetitions or sets – depending on what worked well.
Preparation
How your trial session works
The trial session takes place by appointment and lasts about 90 minutes: a conversation, a tour, and a first session on the gym floor. You can then decide at your own pace – with no obligation to sign up on the spot. You won't need anything more than the following.
- Sports shoes with a clean sole and comfortable training clothes
- A towel for the equipment and a drink
- A suggestion for your weekly schedule: which two to three time slots are realistically available
- Information on any complaints, surgeries, or medical restrictions that we should factor into your plan
- A padlock for the changing room lockers, if needed
