Twice a week is enough -- if they are the right two

The most common reason for quitting is a plan that starts too big. What really counts at the beginning.

People coming back after years off usually plan four sessions a week and last three weeks. Two fixed appointments held over months achieve more than four that collapse after a month.

What happens in the first weeks

The first gains are neural, not muscular: the body learns to recruit existing fibres better. That happens quickly and does not need a high frequency. Muscle growth comes afterwards and above all needs recovery -- exactly what too many sessions take away.

A build-up that holds

  • Two full-body sessions per week, at least 48 hours apart.
  • Six to eight exercises, two sets each.
  • Pick a weight that leaves two repetitions in reserve.
  • Increase the load only after four weeks, not the frequency.

If you want more after two months, add a third session. By then the habit is stable enough that a busy calendar does not knock it over straight away.

We set the plan up together during the trial session and adjust it after four weeks. Both are included in the membership.
